Pittsburgh has made another “Best Of” list, just in time for people to make their travel plans for the summer.

The latest ranking named two of the city’s museums among the best in the country.

A USA Today 10Best Reader’s Choice survey ranked the Senator John Heinz History Center in the Strip District as the second best history museum in the country, highlighting the “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” exhibit, which houses iconic items from the children’s show like the living room set, The Great Oak Tree, and King Friday XIII’s Castle.

“As the largest history museum in Pennsylvania and a Smithsonian Affiliate, the History Center is committed to inspiring and educating our visitors with exhibitions, programs, and memorable experiences,” said Andy Masich, Heinz History Center president and CEO. “This national recognition is a reflection of that commitment. We want to extend our sincere thanks to members, supporters, and community partners in Western Pennsylvania and beyond that voted.”

The Children’s Museum on the North Side also came in second for category of best children’s museums in the country. The survey noted features like The Garage, where kids can explore things that bounce, race and roll and the Kindness Gallery where kids can “try different forms of communication to send messages of empathy and kindness.”

Coming in first place were the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, and The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.
