2 killed in Washington County crash - Apr. 17, 2019

Two people died from injuries they suffered Monday morning in a Washington County two-vehicle crash, authorities said.

Julie Nicholas, 51, of New Eagle, was driving south on Route 88 in Carroll Township around 7 a.m. when a northbound vehicle crossed the center line and hit her vehicle head-on, according to the Washington County coroner.

She was taken by ambulance to Monongahela Valley Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 2:35 p.m.

Her passenger, William Criswell, 59, of Monongahela, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:06 p.m., according to the Allegheny County medical examiner.

The driver of the other vehicle was injured, according to the Washington coroner. Carroll Township police are investigating.
