A Smock woman died in a one-vehicle crash Saturday in Fayette County, according to state police.

Beverly Daugherty was driving north on Route 51 at 2 p.m. in Perry Township when troopers said the vehicle crossed into the southbound lanes, exited the highway and hit a fence and brick building. She died at the scene.

Passenger Frederick Daugherty was taken by medical helicopter to a hospital for treatment, police said. Troopers did not release their ages. A crash reconstruction team was investigating.
