PRT bus strikes girl, 11, in Hill District
A Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus on Monday afternoon struck an 11-year-old girl in the Hill District.
The girl was taken to UPMC Childrens’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Her condition was stable, according to Adam Brandolph, a transit agency spokesperson.
Details about her injuries are unknown.
The bus, an 81 Oak Hill , was traveling outbound when it struck the girl about 3:45 p.m. at Centre Avenue at Devilliers, Brandolph said.
Initial reports indicate the girl ran into the road in front of the bus, Brandolph said.
Nobody on the bus was injured.
The bus driver will be tested for both drugs and alcohol, as per transit agency policy, Brandolph said. The driver is cooperating with investigators.
