The first-ever Power of Music event featured local musicians and speakers sharing their inspirational stories of overcoming challenges, injuries, sicknesses and addictions.

Held under the tent at McCandless Crossing on Sept. 27, musicians told their stories and performed their songs.

Musician and lawyer Shelley Duff organized The Power of Music, wanting to create an event that would inspire and uplift the audience.

“I’m hoping to inspire people through music and provide some much-needed positivity!” Duff wrote in an email.

Performers included: Craig Arlet; David August; Brian Belonzi; Tina Daniels; Bill Postle; Bill Purse and Duff.

The speakers included Annie Pugar and Alison Pavlik.
