Police: Wilkinsburg man shot pregnant girlfriend
A Wilkinsburg man shot his pregnant girlfriend Tuesday night, leaving the woman in critical condition, according to Allegheny County Police.
Dorian McIntosh, 28, is charged with attempted homicide, accused of shooting his 23-year-old girlfriend who is seven weeks pregnant.
The shooting happened just after 10 p.m. at a home on Woodworth Avenue. McIntosh wasn’t at the home when police arrived, but his sister indicated she’d been upstairs when she heard gunshots and came downstairs, according to the complaint. She found the victim, her brother’s girlfriend, on the doorstep saying she’d been shot.
At the hospital, detectives spoke with the victim’s aunt, who said she called her nieces cell phone when she heard about the shooting, according to the complaint. She said McIntosh answered and, when she asked what happened, he said he didn’t want to discuss it, police wrote.
McIntosh arrived at the hospital and told the victim’s aunt first that he’d accidentally shot the victim, then told a different story indicating the gun went off during a fight with his sister’s boyfriend, according to the complaint.
Detectives spoke to McIntosh in the hospital parking lot. He told officers he was on probation and there were bullets inside the car he’d driven, according to the complaint. The car belonged to the victim, and McIntosh told police he didn’t have permission to drive it.
Police said the victim remained in critical but stable condition Tuesday afternoon.
In addition to attempted homicide, McIntosh is charged with aggravated assault, illegal possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment and driving with a suspended license. He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail awaiting arraignment. Court records did not list an attorney for McIntosh as of Wednesday afternoon.
