Police say man robbed South Side bank
Pittsburgh police reported a middle-aged man robbed a bank Saturday morning in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood.
Officers were dispatched to the First National Bank in the 1100 block of East Carson Street at around 10 a.m. where a robbery had reportedly taken place a bit earlier.
Police said one of the tellers reported that a middle-aged man wearing a red bandana demanded $50 and $100 bills and threatened the teller, claiming he had a gun.
The teller said they did not see a weapon, police said, but the man imitated he had a gun by pulling up his shirt and showing his waistband.
No one was injured, said police.
Police said the man left the bank with an unknown amount of cash. A security video shows the man arriving and leaving in a 2008 silver Mazda SUV, according to police.
An investigation is ongoing.
