Allegheny County Police charge man injured in Clairton shootout
A 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with a shooting in Clairton, Allegheny County Police said Friday.
The shooting in the 1100 block of Marion Circle was reported to 911 shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday.
First responders found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition, county police said.
According to police, detectives learned the injured man, later identified as Terrell Craig, fought with a person around 4 p.m. outside a residence on Marion Circle.
A short time later, Craig retrieved a rifle from a nearby vehicle and pointed it in the direction of a second person outside the residence, police said. Craig and two men exchanged gunfire, and Craig was wounded.
A dog was shot and killed in the exchange, and three vehicles were damaged by gunfire, police said. Detectives recovered 36 spent casings at the scene.
Craig faces multiple charges, including aggravated and simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
