Police investigating fatal hit-and-run in Homewood

A man is dead after a reported hit-and-run in Homewood Tuesday night.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the man as Von Washington, 31.

According to Pittsburgh police, two women alerted officers to a man down on the road in the 7600 block of Kelly Street around 11 p.m.

Police said the women told officers the man had been hit by a vehicle, which fled the scene. The provided a description of the vehicle.

Washington was taken to a hospital, where he died, according to police.

The incident remained under investigation.
