Plum School District’s Oblock Junior High School students will be remote learning Wednesday due to covid cases.

District officials said six students tested positive for the virus, and 48 people will need to quarantine.

Contact tracing is underway to determine who may have been in close contact with the staff and students.

Families are urged to contact their health care provider and school nurse should their children develop any covid symptoms.

The food service department will provide free breakfast and lunch during the closure. Meals will be available for pickup from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the high school or Holiday Park Elementary gold door No. 1.

Email grasingerd@pbsd.net for high school pickup and lamberth@pbsd.net for Holiday Park meals.

The school is expected to reopen on Thursday.

“We will keep our families informed of any new situation that arises to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of our school community,” district officials said via letter to families. “The health and safety of our students and staff remain our top priority.”
