Plum approves GAMA Sports Training development
Plum Council has approved plans for the expansion of a sports training facility in the borough.
At its June 10 meeting, council unanimously approved the project proposed by GAMA Sports Training for its $2.5 million development on Sheena Drive. That included approval of a lot consolidation, parking waiver and the land development plan.
The parking waiver allows the spaces to be 5 feet from the building instead of the normally required 10 feet, borough Manager David Soboslay said.
Owner Joe Fischetti previously said he hopes to move into the 27,000-square-foot facility in September.
Household chemical collection scheduled
The Pennsylvania Resource Council will hold a household chemical collection from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 17 at Boyce Park in Plum.
Individuals can drop off automotive fluids, household cleaners, pesticides, paints and other household chemicals. A $20 fee covers disposal of up to 10 gallons or 50 pounds of material per vehicle. Loads exceeding 10 gallons and 50 pounds will be subject to additional fees.
Participants must register at prc.org/collectionevents or by calling 412-488-7490.
