Pittsburgh woman burned, hospitalized after fire at Arlington home

An elderly woman was hospitalized with burn injuries after a two-alarm fire Monday morning in Pittsburgh’s Arlington neighborhood.
City firefighters were dispatched to the 100 block of Rinne Street at about 10:30 a.m. for reports of a home on fire, public safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said.
A female resident in her 70s was able to escape the home with “non-life-threatening burn injuries to her arm,” authorities said. Medics too the woman in stable condition to a local hospital. Cruz did not release her name.
There were four dogs inside the home at the time of the fire, Cruz said. One of the dogs died.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The fire also struck a neighboring structure. Both homes received what Cruz called “extensive damage.”
Firefighters contacted the American Red Cross to assist residents of both homes with emergency shelter and services, Cruz said.
