A Pittsburgh police officer was hit by a vehicle at a traffic stop early Monday morning.
According to police, the incident happened just before 3 a.m. when officers stopped a vehicle at Frankstown and Fifth avenues, at the border of Homewood and Larimer.
Police said the vehicle matched the description of one leaving the scene of an earlier Shotspotter alert in the 7300 block of Race Street.
Shortly after officers approached the vehicle, police said the driver pulled away, hitting one officer in the left leg.
Police briefly followed the vehicle. A police spokeswoman said it was not stopped again, and no arrests have been made.
Paramedics evaluated the officer, who did not need to be taken to a hospital.
Police were continuing to investigate.
