A Pittsburgh woman was found dead after a fire Tuesday morning in Pittsburgh’s Beechview neighborhood, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesman Maurice Matthews.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as Suzanne Green, 45.

The fire was reported at about 7:40 a.m. in the 1600 block of Dagmar Avenue.

Homeowner Michael Green arrived home from work and smelled smoke.

“The first floor wasn’t too bad,” Green said.

He was able to get a dog out of the house but was unable to go upstairs because of the smoke, he said.

He declined further comment.

Firefighters put out the blaze and found Suzanne Green’s body on the second floor.

The city’s Fire Investigation Unit is investigating.
