Changes designed to increase pedestrian safety and the walkability of Pittsburgh’s Downtown Business District are coming to Grant Street.

The Department of Mobility and Infrastructure is installing traffic signal timing changes, part of a larger traffic analysis, optimization and planning project to improve safety throughout Downtown.

The most notable change to street users will be the sequence of green turn arrow phase for motorists, and “WALK phase” for pedestrians during the traffic signal cycle.

The department will monitor Grant Street and make adjustments to traffic signal timings over the next 30 days.
