Sounds of summer: WYEP Music Festival lineup announced

Is it summer yet?

The WYEP Summer Music Festival from 3 to 10 p.m. on June 29 in Schenley Plaza in Oakland features six performances. On the docket are DeVotchKa, Cautious Clay, Clara Kent, Nevada Color, Elias Khouri and Pierce Dipner.

DeVotchka is a four-piece multi-instrumental and vocal ensemble based in Denver, Colo. They take their name from the Russian word devochka, meaning “girl.”

Clay is a producer, multi-instrumentalist singer and song writer who has lived in Cleveland, Washington D.C. and Brooklyn N.Y. His music comes from a range of influences and styles.

Kent is a multi-dimensional artistic individual from Pittsburgh with a soulful style.

Nevada Color is an indie-rock band based in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh-based Khouri is the lead guitarist for the E.K. Band and plays funk, soul and rock and roll.

Dipner is a blues musician from Pittsburgh.
