Work is scheduled to resume this Friday on sections of three roads, the Allegheny County Department of Public Works said Tuesday.

The department said the work, expected to begin at 7 a.m. May 1, will lead to “short stoppages in work zones” on the following roads:

• Nadine Road between Allegheny River Boulevard and Lincoln Road in Penn Hills.

• Painters Run Road between Bower Hill Road and Cedar Boulevard in Mt. Lebanon, Scott Township, and Upper St. Clair.

• Thoms Run Road from Forsythe Road to about 600 feet west of Dutch Hill Road in Collier Township.

The $10.7 million project includes base, drainage and structural repairs along with paving. It began earlier this year but the contractor, Northeast Paving, shut down its in-person operations to comply with Gov. Tom Wolf’s order that all non-life sustaining businesses close to help curb the spread of covid-19.

According to a Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine order, construction businesses are permitted to begin in-person operations starting May 1.

Public works said these roads will be closed later in the year and it will announce those closures then.
