One person was transported to the hospital after a shooting near Chauncey Street in the Hill District, according to police.

Officers responding to a report of drug activity heard multiple shots fired around 2:25 a.m., officials said. During the investigation, they heard more gunfire in the area, and found a vehicle with a 36-year-old female inside near the intersection of Wylie Avenue and Watt Street.

The woman had a wound to the side of the head, possibly from a grazing bullet or the result of shrapnel. EMS transported her to the hospital in stable condition.

Police are investigating the incident.
