An 81-year-old woman was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer Thursday morning at the Crafton Ingram Shopping Center, police said.

The woman, Florence Hall, of Pittsburgh, was identified by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office on Friday.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Police have not yet identified the woman. She had been shopping at the Giant Eagle. Witnesses told police she was walking in front of the Advance Auto Parts store and into the parking lot at the same time the tractor-trailer was backing into the lot to make a delivery, according to Allegheny County police Inspector Andrew Schurman.

The woman walked behind the trailer, was stuck and subsequently pinned, Schurman said.

The truck’s back-up audio warning system was working, witnesses told police.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Tipline at 1-833-255-8477.
