Allegheny County police Friday upped the reward for information in a hit-and-run crash that killed a Pittsburgh man earlier this week.

Police are now offering $13,000 for tips leading to a prosecution in the death of Joseph Morris, 51.

Officials did not identify any possible suspects.

Morris was found dead by police along Universal Road in Penn Hills after Allegheny County 911 received multiple calls about the crash around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Morris was walking home after finishing work as a cleaner at a Duquesne Light facility when he was struck by a car in front of 419 Hershey Road, Inspector Andrew Schurman said.

The vehicle then dragged Morris to 1841 Universal Road.

The two locations are about a half-mile apart.

Video surveillance shows an unclear image of the vehicle that struck Morris, but its exact make and model remains unknown, Schurman said.

Police are asking auto repair facilities and body shops that may have contact with the involved vehicle to call their tipline with information. The vehicle is likely to have damage to the hood and driver-side front.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Tipline at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
