A man was critically wounded after he was shot several times Thursday afternoon in Pittsburgh’s Arlington neighborhood, police said.

The man was the passenger in a vehicle driven by a woman. A child was also in the vehicle when someone shot at them at about 1 p.m. in the 2200 block of Fort Hill Street, the woman told police.

The block is adjacent to the Arlington Playground.

Neither the woman or child were hurt, police said, but the man was shot multiple times and was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The people involved weren’t able to provide a description of the person who fired the shots. Officers recovered evidence on the street, police said.
