A man was in critical condition Friday after he was shot in the chest in Pittsburgh’s East Hills neighborhood, Pittsburgh police said.

The shooting was reported around 1:30 a.m. in the 7900 block of Frankstown Avenue.

Pittsburgh Police officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert of gunfire and found the man suffering a gunshot wound to the chest, said Chris Togneri, public safety spokesman. The man was taken by paramedics to a local hospital in critical condition.

Another shooting was reported early Thursday in Pittsburgh’s North Side, Togneri said.

In that incident, police said, a man walked into Allegheny General Hospital around 3:45 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his hand. The man said the injury occurred somewhere in Zone 3.

Both incidents are under investigation.
