The Allegheny County homicide unit is investigating after a man’s body was recovered Sunday from the Monongahela River.

Crews from Baldwin and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded to the incident at just about 6:15 p.m. near the 4700 block of East Carson Street, according to Public Safety Spokeswoman Cara Cruz.

Firefighters located the man and EMS River Rescue retrieved his body, which was transported to the boat house on the North Shore, Cruz said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.

Callers can remain anonymous.
