Lesha Marie Peterson, 26, of Pittsburgh’s Beltzhoover neighborhood, is facing charges stemming from a robbery at a Mt. Washington gas station on Monday, Dec. 23, 2019.

A 26-year-old Beltzhoover woman was arrested by Pittsburgh police early Monday morning and charged with robbing a Mt. Washington gas station, public safety spokesman Chris Togneri said.

Lesha Marie Peterson went into the Virginia Avenue gas station about 5:45 a.m., placed items on the counter, said she didn’t want to buy anything and left, according to Togneri. She returned shortly thereafter and slid a note to the cashier that she was armed and wanted money.

The cashier went into a back room and dialed 911. Peterson ran out of the store. Police found Peterson a few blocks away and arrested her shortly before 6 a.m.

Peterson is charged with robbery, terroristic threats and possession of drug paraphernalia.
