Police believe the car that hit, dragged and killed a Penn Hills man last week was a silver blue 2002 Saturn SL or SL2, Allegheny County officials said in a news release Thursday.
Joseph Morris, 51, was found dead by police along Universal Road in Penn Hills after Allegheny County 911 received multiple calls about the crash around 9:30 p.m. April 28. Police believe Morris was dragged for a half-mile after being hit on Hershey Road.
Police have yet to identify any suspects.
Inspector Andrew Schurman said Morris was walking home after work as a cleaner at a Duquesne Light facility when he was hit by the suspected Saturn sedan in front of 419 Hershey Road.
He said police used vehicle parts recovered at the scene to determine the year, make, model and color of the vehicle that led to Morris’ death.
Police offered up a $12,000 reward a few days after the hit-and-run to anyone who provided investigators with information leading to the prosecution of the responsible driver.
The reward has since been increased to $13,000.
