A formerly chubby pooch from Pittsburgh’s Greenfield neighborhood was featured this morning on NBC’s “Today” show in celebration of National Pet Day.
Lu-Seal the Chihuahua and her “mom” Julia Morley made the announcement yesterday on Instagram.
View this post on InstagramGuys!! We have such exciting news I can hardly keep my boogies in my snoot! No it’s not my fancy new car seat (even though it’s pretty cozy). We’re on our way to Rockefeller Center to do a live appearance on @thetodayshow! Tune in tomorrow morning to watch me and Mom talk about pet obesity for #nationalpetday ??? . Mom made me promise not to gum any famous people or pee on any couches, but I crossed my paws behind my bum so I’m keeping my options open ? UPDATE: Our official time slot is 9:15 am, tune in then! The segment chronicled Lu-Seal’s dramatic weight loss. When Morley adopted the dog from the Humane Animal Rescue, she weighed 16 pounds. She now is a svelte 8 pounds.
Morley began documenting her dog’s weight-loss journey via social media, picking up tens of thousands of followers along the way.
