Pittsburgh on Friday reopened a North Side street that had been closed for more than a year because of a landslide.
The Mayor’s Office reported that reconstruction of Diana Street in its Spring Hill neighborhood cost $880,000.
Work included construction of a new retaining wall, stormwater inlet and pipe, pavement and realignment of the street. Construction began in February after several months of geotechnical analysis and engineering design. The city closed the street in February 2018.
Diana Street is one of several streets that were affected by landslides over the last two years of record-breaking wet weather.
The city has spent more than $8 million over the last two years on landslide remediation, according to the Mayor’s Office.
