Pittsburgh police are investigating a reported carjacking early Saturday in the city’s Bloomfield neighborhood.

Officers responded just before 9:30 a.m. to the 200 block of Taylor Street.

According to the victim, a suspect brandished a weapon and took the SUV, Public Safety spokesman Maurice Matthews said.

Police spotted the stolen vehicle with three males inside near the 5100 block of Hillcrest Street but the suspects were able to run from the scene.

Matthews said they fled toward Shamrock Way; officers gave chase but didn’t catch them.

As of about 5 p.m., Matthews said no new information was available.
