Pittsburgh Controller Michael Lamb was leading by more than 34,000 votes in a six-way Democratic primary race for Pennsylvania auditor general Wednesday morning, a race that remained too close to call around midnight Tuesday.
With about 91% of Pennsylvania’s voting districts reporting, Lamb had collected about 33% of the votes counted, according to unofficial Pennsylvania election returns. Nina Ahmad, a former Philadelphia deputy mayor, was second with about 29% of the votes.
The remaining Democratic candidates included Christina M. Hartman, with 12%; Harry Scott Conklin, 10%; and Tracie Lynne Fountain and Rose Marie Davis, each with about 8%.
Timothy DeFoor was unopposed in the Republican primary.
Lamb, 57, of Pittsburgh’s Mt. Washington neighborhood, is an attorney and formerly served as Allegheny County prothonotary. He’s been the Pittsburgh controller since 2008.
