Oh the horror! Folks express outrage as communities move trick-or-treat dates

In the name of safety, some communities in the region have decided to reschedule trick-or-treat times due to the threat of heavy rain throughout the day on Halloween.

According to the National Safety Council, children are more than twice as likely to get struck by a car on Halloween than any other night of the year.

Unfortunately, there were many profanity-laced tweets and replies to local news outlets in the region that cannot be replicated here. However, here are some of the more tame ones.

“Really? Take an umbrella,” one user posted under TribLIVE’s initial story about the postponements.

“Suck it up, we went out in all kinds of weather,” another user posted on TribLIVE’s Facebook account.

“Rain never hurt anyone,” someone else said.

One user, under the name Kevin Lese, played it nicely with his comment: “Let the children learn a lesson, sometimes it rains on their parade.”

One woman — yes, woman — said we are “raising a bunch of (female genitalia)” and that we should “move Christmas to April” so it won’t snow. … She must not be from Pittsburgh.

There are also these kinds of tweets:
