Authorities have released the identity of a man who died after being hit by a train in Swissvale on Monday evening.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office said Walter Gunter, 45, of Rankin died as a result of injuries he suffered after being struck by the train at around 5 p.m. near the corner of South Braddock and Woodstock avenues.

Gunter’s death is being investigated by the Allegheny County Police Department.
