Supporters of Antwon Rose gathered for a vigil on Sunday, two days after former police Officer Michael Rosfeld was acquitted of homicide in Rose’s 2018 death.

The vigil began just after 2 p.m. at Hawkins Village in Rankin, where Rose’s mother lives. Several dozen people formed a circle and sang. They brought red roses, purple ribbons, white flowers and white candles.

“I’m confused and afraid,” they chanted.

The vigil is one of at least two events Sunday. A prayer vigil is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. tonight at Warren United Methodist Church in the Hill District. The event will include prayer and singing, according to a flyer sent by organizers to the media.
