Kennywood is looking for summer help.

The amusement park in West Mifflin posted a message to social media Sunday saying it is looking for people for many departments.

Kennywood is looking to add 1,500 people to work in its rides, games, food and beverage, grounds and public safety departments, according to the company.

Idlewild will employ about 800 employees and Sandcastle approximately 400 people for the same departments. Those parks are also recruiting lifeguards and offering free lifeguard training.

Several of the positions are open to minors who are at least 14 years old. Minors will have to secure a work permit.

Here’s a list of positions.

The company perks include flexible schedules, free admission and discounts on food and merchandise.

Kennywood, Sandcastle and Idlewild parks are planning on a full opening on July 11, though season pass holders can visit starting July 7, but amid the coronavirus pandemic a day at the park will be different.

Guests will have to make reservations in advance for the day on which they want to visit, according to park officials. Tickets no longer will be sold at the gates, and ticket sales for community or school district days will be done online.

Employees also will limit the number of people on each ride, in each pool and in all restaurants and other park buildings.

Masks will be required, and all guests and employees will have their temperatures checked before going inside.

“We’re devoting more team members to cleaning and sanitizing than ever before,” said Idlewild and SoakZone Human Resources Director Jimmy Singer. “We have modified our recruitment, orientation and training processes to best ensure the health and safety of our staff from their first minutes on the job.”
