“Good Morning America” hits the Steel City on Thursday as part of its “The Big Summer Road Trip” series.

“We’re popping up in Pittsburgh,” said Ginger Zee, chief meteorologist for ABC News, in a video posted Monday.

Zee sported a Steelers hat as she made the announcement.

‘GMA’ Anchor Robin Roberts said during Monday’s show they will be broadcasting live from Pittsburgh on Thursday where there will be “big surprises.”

“We’re going to honor a hometown hero,” Roberts said. “We do that every time we pop up in a new town.”

Roberts said the show also will bring along Tory Johnson for a “deals and steals” segment.

Roberts made sure to recognize the local ABC affiliate, WTAE-TV.

“Big shout out to our great ABC station there, WTAE,” she said. “They are fantastic.”

A post shared on the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership Facebook page said the show will be broadcast live from the Gateway Clipper.

Audience spots will have limited availability because of an “overwhelming response,” an ABC spokeswoman said Tuesday.
