With little fanfare beyond a website announcement, Pittsburgh’s popular Dish Osteria and Bar is open once again, two years after its owners began what was referred to as a “sabbatical.”

The popular Italian and seafood eatery — at 128 17th St. on the South Side — announced a pending return in March, following a break after “17 wild and exhilarating years.”

“Our time away from Dish will allow us to catch our breath and dedicate ourselves further to our passion for food, which will lead to our next chapter,” the post adds.

On its website Friday, the restaurant greets visitors with an Italian “hello.”

“Ciao! We are glad to announce that we are now officially open. Please make reservations by phone only.“

Hours are listed as 5 p.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday, with the kitchen closing at 11 p.m.
