1 injured in crash on Route 51 in Jefferson Hills

One person was injured in a crash Monday afternoon that temporarily shut down a section of Route 51 to northbound drivers in Jefferson Hills, officials said.

Authorities received a report of the crash near High Road about 3:20 p.m., an Allegheny County 911 shift commander said. Medics took one person to a nearby hospital.

The injured person’s condition was not available.

Shortly before 4 p.m., a section of Route 51 northbound remained closed while crews worked to clear debris from the roadway, Allegheny County Emergency Services officials said.

The crash was cleared within a couple hours.

Further details were not immediately available.

Police are investigating.
