A top executive of a Pittsburgh software technology company was appointed to the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation Board of Trustees, the foundation announced Wednesday.

Anita Dressel is the chief financial and operating officer of TeleTracking Technologies, a software company serving the health care industry.

“It means a lot to me,” Dressel said about her appointment. “I’m very humbled and honored and really excited about the opportunity to contribute to the work the foundation is doing.”

TeleTracking Technologies provides a software platform that removes operational inefficiencies in hospitals and health care facilities, Dressel said. The company’s mission is to make sure no patient has to wait for care and to provide transparency across the system. Dressel believes working toward this mission has prepared her for her new board role with Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation.

“I feel very connected to what it is they do, which is to help patients, and in particular, children get the care that they need.”

Dressel holds a master of science in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, according to a news release from the foundation. Before TeleTracking, she worked for the company, Ericsson, both locally and in Stockholm, Sweden. There, she worked in several positions, including multiple top management roles.

“Anita is a proven leader and we are thrilled to have her join the Board to bring in targeted results and build the brand,” said Clifford Rowe Jr., chair of the Foundation Board of Trustees, in a statement. “We are continually looking to grow and evolve the Foundation and Anita will offer creative and new ideas to support the mission of UPMC Children’s Hospital.”
