A Reserve Township family of Halloween enthusiasts have turned their front yard into a neighborhood horror attraction.

Passersby are greeted by a knife-wielding Jason from “Friday the 13th,” corpses hanging out of coffins, demonic clowns, vampires, bats and many more spooky sights. Sound effects are included.

“We just love Halloween,” Daniel Gairing said in front of his Edison Street home.

He and his wife Tammy, who are the caretakers of this yard of ghouls, carefully lay out the yard design annually. They’ve been doing this for decades.

Cars slow down for a glance. Walkers stop by. Trick-or-treaters endure the steep hill for a scare.

“We get about 150 that come Halloween night, that’s kind of good considering the walk,” said Gairing.

One year, they even had a wedding party stop by to take pictures.

The Gairings put together the display annually several weeks before Halloween and leave it up for a little while after the season ends.

The Gairings have used a number of their family’s Halloween costumes and masks to make up their creepy menagerie.

The couple has developed an affinity for a good mask as their cast of scary characters look like something out of movie.

Scarier yet, said Gairing, “You should see them in the snow.”
