Allegheny County reported 82 new cases of covid-19, along with four new hospitalizations and two new deaths on Sunday.
This is the second day the county reported fewer than 100 cases. On Saturday the county reported its lowest new number of coronavirus cases, 66, since late June.
The new cases bring the total to 8,242 since the first cases were reported in March when the pandemic began. There have been 685 hospitalizations and 242 deaths.
The county reported over 5,000 estimated recoveries.
Of the 82 cases reported in the past 24 hours, 80 are confirmed and 2 are probable. This is out of 1,403 test results.
The new cases range from a 3-week-old infant to a 94-year-old with the median age being 45. The positive tests ranged from July 13 through Aug 1, according to the county.
The newly reported deaths were a person in their 80s and a person in their 90s with dates of death of July 25 and July 26.
August has seen a drop in cases after 5,334 cases were reported in July.
The county said that its report was late on Sunday because a delay from the state.
