Allegheny County Health Department officials reported 133 new covid-19 cases and no new deaths on Sunday.
The latest case numbers were out of 1,750 test results, according to the department. New cases range in age from 2 to 95 years with a median age of 53 years.
The department also received reports of four new hospitalizations.
Allegheny County now has seen 7,294 cases, 581 hospitalizations and 222 deaths from covid-19 since the first ones were reported March 14, eight days after the virus was first reported in Pennsylvania. One new death was reported on Saturday.
There have been 103,999 individuals tested in the county, leading to a positivity rate of 7%.
More than half the cases in the county have been reported in July, with a total of 4,424 cases reported so far this month.
Amid the spike in cases that began in late June, county health department officials warned hospitalizations would likely be next.
Health Director Debra Bogen said they would likely lag behind the new cases, as infected individuals gradually became sicker.
But health directors have said that hospitals have not been stressed amid the spike.
