Allegheny County reports 13 coronavirus cases, 2 deaths

Allegheny County reported 13 more covid-19 cases and two deaths Saturday.

The new figures bring the total number of coronavirus cases in the county to 1,595 and total deaths to 143.

Of the reported coronavirus cases in the county, 59% of them have been 50 years or older. Those who have died from covid-19 in Allegheny County primarily have been older individuals, with 95% of deaths coming from people 60 years or older.

To date, there have been 23,596 tests that Allegheny County Health Department have received results.

The county and much of Southwestern Pennsylvania moved to Gov. Wolf’s yellow phase Friday, seeing some restrictions eased on businesses and the stay-at-home order lifted.

Pennsylvania reported 61 more covid-19 deaths and 989 cases Saturday, bringing the state’s death total to 4,403 and case total to 61,611.

There were 31 cases reported Friday, six reported Thursday, 19 reported Wednesday, 15 reported Tuesday and eight reported Monday.

The first case in Allegheny County was reported March 14.
