Many fireworks displays are over, but there are still plenty of things to do in Pittsburgh this weekend.
Furry friends
Here come the furries. The Anthrocon Convention — a gathering of adults dressed up as animals — invades Pittsburgh from Friday through Sunday at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Downtown. The furries have visited Pittsburgh annually since 2006. An estimated 9,000-plus “animals” and their human friends will be in town, many participating in the parade Saturday.

It’s weird
Weird Al Yankovic will perform Sunday at the Benedum Center, Downtown. This legendary musical satirist will play hits and classics with this “Strings Attached” tour, a high-energy rock and comedy production featuring his original band, costumes, props, a video wall and – for the first time – background singers and a full symphony orchestra.
He is best known for his pop-song parodies such as “Eat It,” “Like A Surgeon,” “Smells Like Nirvana,” “Amish Paradise,” “White & Nerdy,” and “Word Crimes.” His 2014 album was the first comedy album ever to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

Lots of laughs
Father, actor, comedian Aaron Kleiber has commanded audiences for a decade with his energized, crowd-pleasing live performances. He tells jokes about parenthood and will bring his funny ways to the Pittsburgh Improv at The Waterfront in Homestead Friday through Sunday.
He has worked with Bob Saget, Jim Breuer, John Witherspoon and Harland Williams and been on “Gotham Comedy Live” and“Standup and Deliver.” His weekly podcast is “GrownDadBusiness.”

Dine in
Check out the new restaurant in town. Acclaimed chef Justin Severino is teaming up with Pittsburgh brewer Scott Smith to open Larder inside East End Brewing Company in Larimer on Friday. Severino helped design and build the restaurant.
The chef and co-owner of Morcilla, an award-winning Spanish restaurant serving pintxos and family-style dishes in Lawrenceville, also owns Salty Pork Bits, an online cured meat company. Larder, which describes itself as “a casual, counter-service restaurant,” is located beside the bar at East End Brewery’s tasting room. The menu includes barbecue, rustic sandwiches and European pub fare.

Magical mind games
Mark Toland knows what you’re thinking. He can tell you your birthday, where you grew up, and what you did last summer. To him, your mind is an open book. Toland, a mentalist, has appeared everywhere from NBC to NPR to his own TED Talk. And now you can see him live Friday through Sunday at Liberty Magic, Downtown, in “Mind Reader,” where the audience is the cast, their thoughts are his props, and their mind is his stage.
