Fire crews pulled two people from a house fire in Pittsburgh’s Homewood section Monday afternoon, both of whom were taken to the hospital, authorities said.

Crews responded about 3 p.m. to a home on Rosedale Street, said Public Safety spokesman Chris Togneri.

A man was taken to UPMC Mercy in critical condition, Togneri said, and a woman was taken to Mercy in stable condition.

Firefighters doused the flames in a matter of minutes, he said. No other homes were damaged.

Investigators believe the fire started in a second-floor bedroom, though the investigation into the cause of the blaze continues.
