Two men were in critical condition early Thursday after their vehicle hit the side of a building in Pittsburgh’s Mt. Washington neighborhood.

The crash was reported at 3:22 a.m. on Route 51 just past Woodruff Street.

The driver and a passenger were trapped inside and had to be extracted from the vehicle, public safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said. Both were taken to Allegheny General Hospital in critical condition.

Police are investigating.
