Pine is sprucing up the community with tree planting events in three parks.

The township’s Environmental Advisory Council will be planting trees April 22 in Pine Community Park, Pine Haven Park and Karrington Woods Park.

The Pine Community Park tree planting will take place at 10 a.m., followed immediately by Pine Haven.

The tree planting at Karrington Woods Park will take place at 6 p.m.

The EAC welcomes volunteers to help.

To sign up for the tree plantings, visit the township’s website at twp.pine.pa.us and click on the Bird Town PA link under the Community tab.

The trees are being supplied through the Ten Million Trees for Pennsylvania program. The program aims to plant 10 million trees in the Keystone State by the end of 2025.

The movement advocates for tree planting to improve the health of the state’s streams, farms, citizens and economies. So far, 8.2 millions trees have been planted.
