Pine hosts Rockin’ Rec Food Truck Rally on Thursday
New this year, get ready to jam out at Pine’s Rockin’ Rec Food Truck Rally events, which feature live music and delicious eats from a variety of food trucks.
“This was the brainchild of our program team, Tyler Walker and Gina Kampi. For the past several years, we had the farmers market food truck rally that we started incorporating bands into,” Pine parks and recreation director Pete Geis said.
After seeing more people interested in coming to see the bands, Pine has decided to shift the focus to more concerts in the park while maintaining the food trucks.
The June 27 rally will take place at the Keys Pavilion at 6 p.m. The event will feature Burritos by Brett and Barbirou Greek Gyro. Burritos by Brett is a family-owned Mexican food truck serving up burritos, walking tacos and loaded nachos. Barbirou Greek Gyro features Mediterranean marinades, fresh lamb, chicken, and falafel alongside salads and rice.
The featured act, Z-Town Street Band, will perform folksy Americana music.
“It’s a great and affordable evening in the park to spend with your friends and family while listening to some great local music,” Geis said.
The rallies will run throughout the summer, with two scheduled in July and one in August. The musical guests will range from classic rock to country to offer something for everyone. Food truck offerings will include Mexican, Korean, and BBQ.
Attendees are welcome to bring blankets and chairs. A limited amount of picnic table seating will also be available.
