Pine-Richland to host community town halls on strategic plan
Pine-Richland wants your input.
The school district will host three community town halls over the next four months as it prepares to flesh out its 2023-2027 strategic plan.
The first town hall meeting will be held on Oct. 12 at Eden Hall Upper Elementary. The other two are tentatively scheduled for Nov. 30 and Jan. 25.
During the first meeting, participants will discuss:
- Process, timeline and structure
- Mission, vision and values
- Data and information
- Emerging long-term goals and short-term goals
Parents, students, staff members, alumni, local business owners and residents are encouraged to attend.
“The idea is to hear from the community on what you see as our strengths, opportunities and challenges, and go from there,” said district spokeswoman Erin Hasinger.
Superintendent Brian Miller will facilitate the overall town halls. During the sessions, participants will be organized into table groups with individual facilitators, as well.
The district will use community input to help develop its strategic plan, which must receive board approval in spring 2023. The previous strategic plan covered years 2019-23.
The Oct. 12 town hall will feature two identical sessions at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Community members can choose to participate in-person or virtually during either session.
Registration is recommended, but not required, Hasinger said. Participants can register on the district’s website.
