Pete Geis has stepped down as Pine Township’s new director of parks and recreation.

Pete Geis has stepped down as the director of parks and recreation for Pine.

The announcement was made during the board of supervisors meeting April 7.

“We are incredibly grateful for Pete’s service at the township of Pine. He took on the difficult task of following in the footsteps of an individual who helped build Pine’s Parks and Recreation Department, and he did a wonderful job ensuring the program continued to thrive. We wish Pete nothing but the best in his next endeavor,” township Manager Jason Kratsas said regarding Geis’ departure.

Pine named Tyler Walker as Geis’ replacement. Walker previously served as Pine’s recreation program manager.

Walker transitioned to the new role in March.

“It’s an honor to serve Pine Township in this new capacity. Our parks and recreation team is truly exceptional, and I look forward to all the exciting programs, services and enhanced open spaces we’ll be bringing to our residents this summer and beyond,” Walker said.

Kratsas congratulated Walker on his new role and spoke highly of his talents.

“We are thrilled that the successor to Pete will come from within our own team. Tyler joined us a year ago and has consistently brought energy, passion and a creative approach to his work,” he said. “These are the exact qualities we were looking for in our new director of parks and recreation, and we’re excited that he’s ready to take on this leadership role.

”Tyler’s passions and the goals of our parks and recreation department are fully aligned: providing exceptional recreation services, amenities and experiences to our residents. Tyler is the perfect person to bring these goals to life and take the department to the next level.”
