Open house

Blessed Francis Seelos Academy in Wexford opened its doors in September 2020 for all preschool through eighth-grade students for five-day-a-week in-person learning and optional virtual learning. The school has been operating in this model since the beginning of the school year and the community has noticed, welcoming many new families that desired in-person learning.

Seelos Academy is hosting an open house on April 12 from 5-7 p.m. for all interested families for preschool through eighth grade for the 2021-22 school year. Registration is required for the open house and can be completed online at www.seelosacademy.org.

Residency match

Kelly Keenan of Wexford – along with other medical students at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (Geisinger Commonwealth) – learned her residency placement during the National Resident Matching Program’s “Match Day,” an event at which all fourth-year M.D. students around the country simultaneously open their envelopes to learn where they will spend the next three to seven years training in specialties. Residencies typically begin July 1.

Keenan matched into internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University.
