Penn-Trafford kindergarten teachers Melissa Vovaris of Level Green Elementary, Emilie Shogan of Level Green and Sunrise elementaries and student learning assistant Nicole Adasczik of Level Green, raised $1,200 to buy a variety of school supplies for kindergarten classrooms.

The funding, through an organization called DonorsChoose, enabled the team to purchase supplies to keep learning fun and engaging for their young students.

The DonorsChoose model encourages teachers to post classroom projects in need of funding, and then encourages public donations through crowdsourcing. The teachers raised the money in just four days to support their project, “Keeping the Creativity in Kindergarten.”
